Intelli Metronome & Tuner: IMT-301 with Temperature/Hygrometer Meter

This review is from: Intelli Metronome & Tuner: IMT-301 with Temperature/Hygrometer MeterI bought this after seeing my boys' violin teacher using it during one of their lessons. Our first metronome was Seiko SQ50, but its max sound was easily drown out by my boys' violin and piano playing. Then when I first heard how significantly louder this was during one of my boys' violin lessons, I immediately ordered it. This turns out to be the perfect metronome/tuner for my boys' both violin and piano practices. It not only tunes their violin perfectly each and every time, but it is loud enough that it doesn't get drown out by their playing instruments. Yet, it is small enough to be carried around inside a violin case or in your pocket. Some folks might not appreciate the fact that the source of the sound is on the metronome's back side and not the front. However, the sound is big and clear enough that it makes no difference for us. If we want the loudest sound possible, then we just turn it around. It comes with a pull out stand, so it can be self-standing on any flat surfaces. The fact that it also functions as a temperature meter (in both farenheit and celcius) and a hygrometer is an absolute plus, as any serious musicians would need to monitor their environment in both the temperature and humidity levels for the safe keeping of their instruments. With this multi-functioning perfect unit, I don't think I'll ever be looking for another. By the way, it's also a very handsome looking unit -- an additional plus! I'd highly recommend this product....

This review is from: Intelli Metronome & Tuner: IMT-301 with Temperature/Hygrometer MeterI am a flute player, and must say that this is one of the best metronome/tuners for the money EVER made. The metronome's sound can get EXTREMELY loud, and is very useful when going into the upper octaves, especially when slurred. The tuner is really great, and covers just about the whole range of the flute, but unfortunately, doesn't really register very much of the piccolo, however, it can turn out a sound for every pitch for every instrument which can improve your overall aural skills. The hygrometer is especially great if you have a wooden instrument. Just go into a room, turn the metronome or tuner on then off, and the thermometer (which can read in Centigrade or Fahrenheit) and hygrometer stay on the screen. The hygrometer and thermometer will reset, and check them to see if its just right. This way, you know if its safe to leave your instrument (one of your largest investments) in that room or not. Overall, I recommend this metronome/tuner/thermometer/hygrometer to EVERYONE. I am seeing more and more instrumentalists with this model, and it is not only a 'mainly string thing'. :)Happy shopping, I hope this helps with your decision!...

This review is from: Intelli Metronome & Tuner: IMT-301 with Temperature/Hygrometer MeterI've used this metronome for several years and it has all the functions that I need. It is easy to use and tempi and tuning drones can be easily changed between with the wheel. I only have two criticisms:The speaker is on the back, so when on the stand, I just turn it around so the back faces me, but having the speaker on the front would be better.I have never seen one of these that accurately give the humidity. Not a big drawback, as I have other monitors for this, but I wouldn't rely on this product for humidity (all the ones I've seen are stuck on 26-28%, and I've left mine outside on some humid days in Michigan to see if there is any change). The temperature seems accurate.Highly recommended product, especially if you get some rechargeable 9v batteries to go with it!...
