AXL Marquee Eldorado Electric Guitar, Cream

This review is from: AXL Marquee Eldorado Electric Guitar, CreamWhile this guitar is obviously based on a Tele design, it is something all it's own. It's almost like some bizarre merging of a Fender and a Danelectro. While it has a little twang in the bridge pickup the tone is not exactly a tele tone, it instantly blows away any Squier out there as well as almost every tele copy I have seen. In that area alone I would put it on par with a MIM Tele (tone wise) even with the tone being something sort of off tele. I can't really explain it, you really have to hear it for yourself. It has two EMG design pickups, and they sound very bright. The 3 way selector switch is a nice touch because it diverts from the fender style and uses a Gibson like toggle. Unlike most cheap guitars, the tone and volume knobs actually do something, and you can produce a surprising range of different sounds. Although these are made in china, the quality is a bit better than most Chinese made guitars, in that area I would put them on par with a Standard Squier which is a step above Affinity, and 2 above Bullet. Value wise, you can't beat this, and with Amazon blowing these out for Christmas you can't go wrong. One warning:Because it's not coming from a guitar shop, you will probably need to have a proper setup done on it which is no big deal....

Gibson SG Special Electric Guitar, Ebony - Chrome Hardware

This review is from: Gibson SG Special Electric Guitar, Ebony - Chrome HardwareI'm a novice guitar player but I love this guitar. It had the best performance for value that I could find with awesome classic SG styling. It plays great right out of the box. At the time, I paid $799 on Amazon....I think I got a great deal because I no longer see it at that price....

This review is from: Gibson SG Special Electric Guitar, Ebony - Chrome HardwareI got me one o these here SG geetars from the garbage one time. I were walkin along mindin my own, an seen this lady tossin one out, cause it were all broken up. She said it got that way cause her son's boyfriend smashed it, cause her son joined the Marines. The boyfriend were jealous, cause he wuz left behind fer other men. Huh? I know, don't ask don't tell. Anyways, I reglued the neck, rebuilt the lower bout with a good size Forstner bit, replaced most a the control cavity, and put in new electronics. The bridge am new cause it were gone, an I stripped the paint cause it were a mess. Now it gots a tung oil finish, dual original humbuckers, and an ebony fingerboard. The neck are a good piece a flamey maple, just like it were a real fiddle. The frets am jumbos. It plays pert nice, despite it were smashed by unholy love. It's a good'un fer playin slide geetar. I likes to play "Tumblin Dice" "Statesboro Blues" and "Tell Mama" by the bucketload on it. So, I allow you find a unnatural love tryst with geetars involved, so y'all kin get one of em fer yerself. Cause you know them feggnits is always fightin an kickin. So sooner or later they's likely to bust one em geetars up. Or if'n you know some geetars fer sale cheap that are SG's, go on an buy one er somethin afore it's too late....

On Stage KS7350 Pro Heavy Duty Folding Z Keyboard Stand

This review is from: On Stage KS7350 Pro Heavy Duty Folding Z Keyboard StandThe stand is good, but the company has been lazy about updating the specifications. The stand adjusts to 33" wide, no longer to 36". There is also a discrepancy as to how much weight it will support, either 375 pounds or 500 (both numbers are claimed). The stand now has a small, vertical support not shown in the picture, between the cross-bars, so perhaps the higher number is correct. They also did not bother to list the number of height adjustments (5) or how far apart they are (about 3"). The height adjustments could be improved -- although there are some guiding marks, it's not easy to tell when one is exactly in the right place (so that a hole is used); it does not suddenly feel "in the hole," and one might easily miss the right notch, which could be dangerous at higher weights (where it might suddenly slip)....

This review is from: On Stage KS7350 Pro Heavy Duty Folding Z Keyboard StandThe stand is very sturdy and can be adjusted in both height and width to fit my needs. (I'm certain that I could stand on my keyboard/stand to change a lightbulb, but I don't think I'll conduct that test.) I'm using the stand for an M-Audio AXIOM 49 Advanced 49-Key Semi-Weighted USB MIDI Controller (which is just 32" wide). The height is adjustable from just above my lap to tall enough to stand at the keyboard comfortably. I chose this stand rather than an "X" stand because I could adjust the height without also affecting the width. With the Axiom 49 only 32" wide, most "X" stands could not be adjusted low enough for my needs (without also adding a shelf.)The "Z" design offers plenty of clearance for my feet and knees while seated, and the adjustment knobs are easily accessible from the front; though it's not entirely clear to me which side is really the "front".The stand top is deep enough to accommodate my Axiom 49, and leaves enough extra stand-top to add a 6" deep shelf, perhaps for a sheet music holder-gizmo and certainly a drink or too....

This review is from: On Stage KS7350 Pro Heavy Duty Folding Z Keyboard StandI needed an inexpensive, heavy duty, not too deep, storable, flexible table for a variety of applications. A folding card table wasn't going to do it. Standard tables tend to have little flexibility & large footprints. Drafting tables have more flexibility but tend to be too deep. My solution was to top this keyboard stand with a piece of laminated shelving from Home Depot. The "Z" shape of the frame means I can use it sitting down (sewing table), the adjustable height makes it perfect for a buffet table. The adjustable width makes it easy to use when I need a smaller table (a place for the science fair project in my child's room). It stores compactly as well, but I haven't taken advantage of that feature yet since the stand is always in use somewhere!...

Epiphone 1958 Korina Explorer Electric Guitar, Antique Natural

This review is from: Epiphone 1958 Korina Explorer Electric Guitar, Antique NaturalI just got this through one of Amazon's resellers, Music 123. I will do my review here point by point:1. The finish looks more golden in the photos here on Amazon and on other websites, but what you actually get is more like a honey or light reddish brown. It looks ace.2. However, the wood quality could have been slightly better. It looks bruised in places, almost all on the sides of the body, and the finish couldn't entirely conceal it. There was also a slight blemish on the top side of the lower bout. At this price point, though, the limited extent of these defects isn't that big a deal to me. This will be a YMMV for people, though. 3. The pickups are going to have to be replaced. The middle position on the three way switch is really boomy. These are by far the worst sounding pickups of my now six electrics, with the exception of my Squier and that is only because of the weak output of that guitar's pickups, causing them to sound somewhat on the lifeless side. Judging by the reviews of this axe I read online, I knew the pickups were going to be an issue. But keep in mind that I also bought this as a project guitar. I'm going to put a Wilde L90 in the bridge and a JB in the neck for some of that Matthias Jabs mojo and I will also have the tuners changed out in favor of Gotoh's. I am going to have new electronics installed, too. There have been reports of problems with the nut and it is a plastic one, but it looks like it was well cut to me since there was no burring or buzzing and it tuned right up and stayed there. I may have it switched out, but then again, maybe not. 4. It does neck dive somewhat. Epiphone needs to relocate the top strap button to help balance things out. Again, this is a known issue. However, the body is also light, so as far as the level of burden on your back and shoulder, no problem. 5. While I don't expect the action to be like butter on pretty much any guitar (the factory action on my Gibby Flying V was a bad joke, for example) right out of the box, it was high enough on the last third of the neck that doing fast licks fluidly there was pretty much impossible. There was no string buzz at all, but if the action was more even, I might have added a star. 6. The cable the guitar came with might be fine for cheap headphones, but not a real guitar. 7. The neck pickup produced some pretty serviceable sounds. Same goes for the bridge pickup. But when you factor in how bad the rhythm sound is, the pickups gotta go. 8. The packaging was mixed. The guitar came to me safe and sound, fortunately, as the guitar box was inserted into a larger box with a big paper bag type material attempting to fill the gaps. The guitar box itself was rather flimsy, as they used three or four lengthwise strips of packing tape only to try to hold it closed. During shipment or handling, parts of the box had torn away from the tape. The guitar itself was swaddled in a combination of bubble wrap and some of that silverish white stuff. This doesn't do it for me since there was no case shipped with this guitar. So gotta definitely do better there, Epiphone and Music 123. 9. Spent an extra $5 with Music 123 and got the 3-5 day shipping. It arrived in three following shipping (which took less than 24 hours from when I ordered). Totally stoked about that. 10. Acoustically, this guitar sounds beautiful. In fact, it would be second to my V in that regard (I also have an American Strat, an Epi LP Custom, and a Jackson Rhoads). This gives me great anticipation of how it will turn out once I have all the mods installed. Conclusion: I had waited for quite a while hoping to get this item in good condition used from a respectable dealer, but none would seem to show up. Thus, I used a coupon to get it new from Music 123 at a discount instead. Out of the box, this is not a gigging instrument. You will have to definitely modify it. Considering that the cheapest brand new Gibson Explorer is $1400, opting for this and hot rodding it is an option that everyone should consider. I will probably end up spending about $400 on the mods, still saving me $5-600 compared to the Gibby. So this makes a good project guitar, but if you want a gigging instrument on a budget out of the box, look to ESP or the Epi Les Paul Custom series....

In addition to cereal, Special K offers a variety of products and a wide range of delicious flavors.

This review is from: Special K Cereal, Red Berries, 16.7-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4)This review is less about the cereal and more about the option of buying from Amazon for one of two reasons:1) If you've never had it, you're probably not going to buy a 4-pack. More likely, you'll go to your local market and buy one box.2) If you have had it and you're looking at this item, you're trying to decide if you want to buy a 4-pack.I have a 4-pack delivered every month via "Subscribe & Save" and here's why:My local groceries carry the smaller 12oz boxes for about $3-$3.50, the 16.7 oz box is usually about $5-$5.50. Bear in mind, this item is a 4-pack of 16.7 oz boxes. The subscribe & save option from Amazon takes 15% off (did I also mention no shipping, no commitment) which lowers the $20 price tag to more like $17 for four boxes, or $4.25 per box- that's almost a dollar off what my grocery charges! So, I get the cereal I love, delivered to my door regularly and automatically, for almost a dollar less than what I'd have to pay if I drove to the store. It doesn't take a college education to know that's a deal!...
