There is a warning in the manual and, "Wash hands after use" is printed in bold. It sounds ridiculous, but it's true. On top of that, the keys aren't cut very well. They have sharp edges. Not that that mattered very much to me once I read the warning in the manual. The fact that the keyboard is carcinogenic was enough for me to return it to the seller. I had to pay a 10% restocking fee though. Damn you, M-Audio....
This review is from: M-Audio Prokeys Sono 88This keyboard has a great feel, great simplicity, and fantastic internal sounds. Unfortunately, I've had a lot of problems trying to get the audio interface and MIDI portion to work with Windows XP. Customer service has been nice but basically they blame it on the operating system, so they don't think it's their responsibility to try to fix it. I've heard it works well with a Mac or Windows 7, though. The audio interface is *ok* - works for a demo, but too much "shhh" in the sound for serious recording purposes. This keyboard would be appropriate for beginner piano players who listen through the headphones or hook it up to an amp. However, if you're looking for a keyboard to hook to your computer and use as a controller and audio interface, and you use XP, I would be curious if it works for you. Also, they don't make the music stands any more, that might be a problem if you plan to read music while you play it....
